Boarding Families
A Strong Partnership
Our Boarding families are important to us at St Peters. We believe that the partnership between the parent, the Boarding student and the College is crucial in providing a great Boarding experience. Our Boarding Coordinators communicate regularly with our Boarding parents—they aim to ensure that the lines of communication are always open, and do this in a number of ways. Updates on the St Peters Lutheran College Boarding social media accounts provide great boarding life insights. These accounts can be accessed here:
Boarder Parent Support Group
The Boarder Parent Support Group is an important part of the St Peters Boarding community. It aims to promote a close relationship between Boarder parents, Boarding staff and the College. The Group meets once a term. These meetings provide a great opportunity for Boarding parents to catch up with each other and be informed of any issues or developments related to Boarding.
Regional and International Visits
Each year, the Boarding Coordinators join other College staff members to visit regions throughout Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The aim of these visits is to promote the College while also gaining an appreciation of where our Boarding families come from (and the challenges they may face). In recent years, we have also ventured to Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea. St Peters has had a strong association with Papua New Guinea over many decades—our Coordinators have enjoyed catching up with all of our boarding Old Scholars there on each of their visits.
