The new Junior High Precinct was officially opened on Friday 4 September by Mrs Charis Mullen MP, Member for Jordan and Reverend Paul Smith, Bishop of the Lutheran Church of Australia Queensland District.

Zac H., ​Year 12 student from St Peters Springfield, took the opportunity to ask best friend Hope W. to the senior formal in a spectacular way. With the idea that a special invitation was needed to create an impact, Zac researched Hope’s favourite movies and came up with some unforgettable moments replayed throughout the ‘invitation week’.

During Term 2 the College was thrilled to present badges to our newly appointed Junior High House Captains. The role of our Year 9 Junior High House Captains is significant as it presents a great opportunity for students to serve as well as refine their leadership and organisational skills.

Our Springfield graduates have inspiring success stories to share with our community—meet Chris Wise, 2018 St Peters Springfield graduate. Chris is now learning the exciting field of network security and defence to be a cyber security specialist.

​Last year Kaylee Neil, our Year 12 Springfield Captain, was chosen as part of a group of 16 Australian student leaders for the political trip of a lifetime in January 2020. The United Nations (UN) Youth Political Tour is an annual, four-week program where delegates visit US cities including New York, Boston, Washington and San Francisco to explore the current state of American politics.

True to the St Peters motto ‘Plus Ultra’ the new Junior High Precinct, for Year 7 to Year 9 students, truly embodies its meaning—Ever Higher. The Precinct provides opportunities to bring students together in new ways that will enhance their sense of belonging in Junior High and celebrate life and learning.

Year 1 students and staff recently worked on a fun and inspiring task during their online learning program. The ‘The Joy Project’ became a positive, community building, activity involving creative hands-on learning experiences through a variety of mediums.

Opening in 2008, St Peters Springfield originally opened its doors to 96 founding students. With a dedicated team, and the support of the Springfield community, the College has since moved to its own modern purpose-built facility and is now an educational home to over 600 students and over 70 teachers and staff.
