On Tuesday 4 March, 2025, St Peters Springfield proudly hosted the inaugural Secondary Years Parent Workshops Series during our Years 11 and 12 Three-in-One Conferences. The event was a resounding success, bringing together families, educators, and students to reflect on and celebrate learning.
The workshops, held in the Learning Commons, were designed to provide valuable insights and strategies to parents, guardians and caregivers to support our students’ journeys. Ms Sarah Johnson, our Pathways and Counselling Leader, opened the event with her session, 'Thinking Futures.' She captivated the audience with her exploration of emerging industry trends, the jobs of the future, and the essential skills required for success. Parents left with a deeper understanding of how to support their child’s post-school ambition, aligned with our College’s mission to prepare students for a meaningful future.
Following this, I had the pleasure of leading the 'Thinking Plus Ultra' session. It was heartening to see the enthusiasm of our parent community as we explored impactful strategies to boost Senior student’s motivation and goal setting. The engagement and interaction during the session were a testament to the strong connections we foster within our community. At St Peters Springfield, we believe in going the extra mile for each other, and this event was a perfect example of that commitment.
The dedication of our staff, the custodians of the St Peters’ Plus Ultra mindset, was on full display as they shared their expertise and passion for education. The evening featured our Years 11 and 12 Three-in-One Conferences, led by our Senior students. These conferences are instrumental in fostering strong partnerships between students, teachers, and families. They emphasise student ownership and responsibility for learning and facilitate clear communication about subject expectations and student progress. This collaborative approach not only supports improved Academic outcomes but also enhances student wellbeing, ensuring that each student is well-prepared for their future.
In conclusion, the Secondary Years Parent Workshops and the Three-in-One Conferences were a celebration of our dedication to excellence and connection. We look forward to continuing this journey together, preparing our students for a life of purpose, guided by values and supported by a strong, caring community.

Year 10 Welcome to Senior School Dinner
Thursday, Week 4, our Year 10 cohort and their families convened at the Brookwater Golf Club to celebrate their introduction to Senior schooling. The evening was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate community alongside family, friends, teachers and VIPs. St Peters Old Scholar and guest speaker, Lelani Rayner, delivered an insightful speech sharing her experiences from her time at St Peters. Lelani’s passion and love for St Peters was obvious as she described her personal challenges and successes during her time in the Senior School. Her message to students was one of support and unity for one another, along with a need for students to find a balance between their social life, extracurriculars and Academics. To wrap up the evening, the student representatives recapped on the cohort’s St Peters journey from Year 7 to present. Students were then presented with their Senior ties by the Head of Springfield, Mr Craig Brown. It was a truly memorable evening that left students both excited and inspired. What a wonderful tradition the Year 10 Welcome to Senior School Dinner has become.

Creativity
You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have. Maya Angelou
At Assembly, the Arts Captains Ryan and Lucy described the meaning of creativity and how this skill involves the head, heart and hands, connection and an emotional investment. They also shared how the fear of failure causes people to prefer familiar routines rather than be a risk-taker. Students were enlightened to the numerous careers that involve creativity.
The more we create, the more new ideas come to us. Creativity is endless, like a never-ending source of inspiration
William Childs describes creativity as:
Wonderment - There is nothing more essential to creativity than wonderment.
Courage - This trait will help you stay on the trail as you hunt down your big ideas.
Authenticity - Creativity demands authenticity.
Curiosity - A trait that's essential if you hope to be more creative.
Where do you create in your life?
