“It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up.” – Vince Lombardi
With so much uncertainty for all Sport over the next few months, it is important we support each other and look to the future in a positive and enthusiastic manner. With trainings, fixtures, tournaments, State/ National Championships and tours cancelled, my thoughts are with our girls; I can only imagine how disappointed they are.
Let’s take this time to regroup, focus on our families and recognise the importance of good health and general wellbeing.
We now understand the importance of good hygiene, social distancing and taking care of our health with a healthy diet, regular exercise with a balance of rest and recovery.
We will be working towards providing you with a variety of ways to keep fit and active – please watch this space.
THANK YOU
I am never going to forget my first term as your St Peters Girls Sport Coordinator, I have learnt so much and enjoyed the challenge.
I have met many girls and their families new to St Peters, I have learnt about different Sports; I have reflected on how lucky I am to work with such amazing people in our Sport Department led by Mr Shaun Nodwell.
I am grateful for our College leaders for leading our College in these uncertain times and I feel blessed to share my life with many wonderful students who everyday bring us joy through their Sport.
To our Sport Coordinators and coaches, thank you for your work in organising and coaching the girls.

Round 1 Autumn Fixtures Get Underway
Last Friday afternoon our St Peters Indooroopilly campus was a buzz with the QGSSSA Autumn fixtures getting underway, and what a way to start with Round 1 against our friendly neighbours, St Aidan’s. All teams across the three sports played with excellent sportsmanship and represented our College proudly.
BASKETBALL
Well done to our Basketball girls who came away with five wins from ten games. Special mention to the Senior A, Senior B, 10A, 9B & 7A Basketball teams for great wins.
Our Open team took the opportunity to hold their annual Old Scholars game, we thank Grace E (2019), Holly J (2018), Talitha C (SFD 2018), Peta F (2014) & Ashleigh T (2010) for giving up their time to play this game. Also suiting up was our QGSSSA Basketball Coordinator Alex Wilson & 8B coach Brooke Jones.
Thank you to both teams and coaches for stepping out on the court, sharing stories and times playing at St Peters and we look forward to next year's game. Go Saints!
TOUCH
Unfortunately, due to rain and the condition of the field, Mayer Oval was closed for all Touch fixtures. This left only four games being played on Harts Road Oval with mixed results. Well done to our 8A and Senior A teams who played very well to come away with the wins and our Open and 7A teams fought hard against very strong opposition.
FOOTBALL
It was a great start for our QG Football program which saw the afternoon commence with our Junior Maroon and Junior White teams enjoying a brief but fun combined practice game after ISHS was also closed due to the condition of the field.
Our Open team had a comprehensive win beating St Aidan’s easily, our Senior 1 team proved too strong for our Senior 2 team, our Junior team had an easy win and our Intermediate team fought hard in a tough encounter.
SENIOR SOFTBALL (Years 10 - 12 only)
Coordinator: Ms Natalie Holman – n.holman@stpeters.qld.edu.au
Last Saturday was the conclusion of the 2020 QGSSSA Senior Softball season. After a wet start it was a fantastic season for our girls, we thank our Coordinator Natalie Holman and the wonderful team of Coaches for preparing the girls for the season. St Peters continue to enter the most teams into the competition which highlights just how strong and appealing this Sport is for our girls. We came away with great results, our Open team finishing equal second, one point behind the winners. Congratulations to our Senior A1 team for winning the Senior A premiership, finishing on top of the ladder with seven wins from nine games.
The Senior A2 and Senior B1 teams fought hard each week in the tough Senior A competition – I enjoyed watching you play girls; your St Peters ‘Plus Ultra’ spirit was there for all to see.
Special thanks to Mark Holman for his support of the program and for all the behind the scenes work to make each Saturday run with ease.
