CROSS COUNTRY
Coordinator: Mrs Kerry Schreiber - k.schreiber@stpeters.qld.edu.au
Last Saturday 85 Cross Country girls ventured down the freeway to Rivermount College in Yatala to compete in the QGSSSA Cross Country Championships. This was my first Cross Country Championships and a day I won’t forget in a hurry. I could not have been prouder of each one of our girls who gave their absolute best in very trying conditions on the tough Rivermount course. Many sections of the course the girls were running in knee-deep mud, they all gave their absolute best to represent St Peters Lutheran College with pride. We came away in sixth position - it was a very tight race between third & sixth. A big thank you to Mrs Kerry Schreiber, what can I say about this inspirational lady, an Old Scholar (1984) who represented St Peters herself, she brought so much passion and inspiration to the girls it was moving to see. Thanks also to the amazing team of coaches for their work in preparing the girls for the big race.
Special Congratulations must go to.
- Ava K – 4th place 12 years

PINK SOCK ROUND
On Friday 28 May, for QGSSSA Touch and Basketball, and Saturday 5 June, (Old Scholars Game) for QGSSSA Football, we are continuing our much-valued support to the McGrath Foundation by helping raise funds to provide funding for the McGrath Breast Care Nurses who provide invaluable support and care to women experiencing breast cancer.
The McGrath Breast Care Nurses bring you and your family peace of mind through expert knowledge, personal care and genuine compassion. They can help you create a time in your life not defined by breast cancer.
Many girls’ teams will be proudly wearing PINK SOCKS on this day, that also raises awareness and effects on breast cancer families.
We ask that if you wish to donate and support, please click on the link below and enter any amount you wish to donate, or the same on the QR code on the brochure attached.
https://fundraise.mcgrathfoundation.com.au/fundraisers/stpeterslutherancollege/pull-on-your-socks
We also encourage all supporters to wear anything PINK at all the games on this day to support the cause.
All donations are greatly appreciated, and the St Peters community has been acknowledged as a tremendous supporter of the McGrath Foundation personally by Glenn McGrath.
Thank you so much for your much-valued support.

2021 AUTUMN FIXTURES – FOCUS ROUND NO 2 - BASKETBALL
Last Thursday afternoon the support for our Basketball girls was AMAZING. Thank you to the many students that attended and cheered on our Basketball girls to give them an experience they will remember for a long time. To share with you some of the feedback I have received – that was the best atmosphere we have seen at a Basketball game, we haven’t seen the Indoor Gym pumping like that in a long time!! WELL DONE TO ALL INVOLVED.

Round 7 Wrap
Round 7 against Moreton Bay College proved to be a great learning experience for our girls. It was wonderful to see our teams play hard to the final whistle. If you happened to be in the gym for our games last Thursday night, you would have been exposed to an electric and exciting atmosphere. The gym was rocking! This included a massive student led tunnel prior to our Opens and Senior A games. The loud drum echoed through the entire gym, complimented with cheers and massive support from our amazing students. Thank you to everyone who made it special. Perhaps the game of the night belonged to our Senior A girls team. The girls went back and forth in a close match, trading baskets and fouls right down to the wire. All spectators were on the edge of their seats as the game came down to the last second shot from St Peters. Make it and the Saints win, miss it and the game was over… with 1.3 seconds to go, our three-point shot attempt at the buzzer just came up short, resulting in a one point loss. An overall wonderful effort for an exceptional game.
Please note that this week (Round 8) will be our last home game of the season. CLICK HERE for draw.
By the Numbers:
49 - Number of points our Open girls scored
8 - Our 8A girls won by 8 points.
4 - A close, 4-point loss for our 7A girls.
