2019 QGSSSA Basketball
Congratulations to all 11 Basketball teams that contributed to the 2019 QGSSSA Basketball season. It was an outstanding season with great development and spirit, which was celebrated at the breakup on Tuesday. Well done especially to our Opens Team and 10B who were tenacious at every game and deserved BASKETBALL PREMIERSHIPS. The Opens, under the professional guidance of coaches Mike & Mitch secured their first premiership in over a decade. Opens success is the pinnacle of QG sport and what all teams aspire to.
Overall St Peters QG Basketball program performed brilliantly. As mentioned overall, Opens and 10B were 1st, Senior A, 10A, 8A, 8B, and 7A all placed 2nd, Senior B were 3rd, 9A fifth, 9B sixth and 7B, 8th. Thank you to Ms Alex Wilson our 2019 Basketball Coordinator for all the work that she has done behind the scenes with the coaches and students to achieve such success in our program this year. We had an amazing base of coaches particularly the Opens coaches and staff member Mr David Rushmore who finds time to coach our teams amongst their busy schedules. Finally, thank you to our Captain Grace E and Vice-captain Zoe P for the work they have done as role models for this sport. We hope all girls enjoyed basketball this season.
2019 QGSSSA Football
Our five Football teams for 2019 combined in the QGSSSA competition this year to produce some competitive games. Our Opens team ended up in shared 2nd spot while our Senior team placed outright 2nd. The Intermediate team were very consistent finishing 3rd on the ladder and our huge Junior squad of 20 girls placed 3rd. Well done to all girls who played football this season, it was evident from every game that you had a great time. We hope you enjoy celebrating your season at the Football Dinner on Saturday 15 June at Hillstone, St Lucia.
Thank you to Mr Ben Innes, our 2019 Football Coordinator, Opens coach Liam Murphy, Senior coach Olivia James, Intermediate coach Rob Kirby, and Jnr A coach Ms Danielle Appleton. It was also fantastic having old girls back in Assistant Coach roles so thank you to Jemilla Duffy, Amy Thompson and Charli Wood. Finally, thank you to our Captain Hannah C and Vice-captain Maia T for all their leadership this season.
2019 QGSSSA Touch
In 2019 our Touch program has seen great improvement. Congratulations to our Open team as they finished strongly placing 2nd. Senior A and Senior B were 5th. Other results included 7A and 9A, 4th; 10A, 9B, and 8A were 5th, 7B were 7th and 10B and 8B were 8th. Well done to all of our award winners from the breakup on Monday, this is a great recognition of your contribution to your teams.
Thank you to Ms Annie George for being involved in the 2019 Touch program once again. Thank you to all of our coaches who support our girls, with special mention to counsellor Jess Mason for supporting Annie in her coordinating role with split venues. The improvement in the Touch program over the last couple of years is due to the hard work of Paul Treschman, in our coaching mentor role so we thank him for his time and efforts. Finally, well done to our 2019 Touch Captain, Natalie W and Vice-captains Nina Z & Annabelle B for all their hard work promoting the sport of touch and leading by example.

Round 2 of Selections
This week sees the rowers complete the second round of the trials process to be put into crews. Can I please reiterate that attendance at each training session is vital from this point forward in the season. Rowing is a crew sport and come regatta season it is critical that the girls have been training together as crews.
