The weeks are flying and as we head into the final stages of Week 3 we have recently had a record number of our students attend the Schools State Track and Field Championships held last weekend in Cairns. The climate was hot, but not unexpected, with some great performances and some tenacious races by many of our students here at St Peters. In recent years our students have progressed both interest and in skill in track and field and we celebrate in our community now some amazing athletes. When this article was written the Championships were still in progress so next there will be an update on the results of the competition.
Water Polo
Coordinator: Mrs Jenny Pavlides, email: waterpolo@stpeters.qld.edu.au
Well done to all our Water Polo teams for the great games you played in Round 2 of the 2019 - 2020 BWPI season. All teams are displaying a lot of promise so early in the season.
Good luck to all teams in their Round 3 games.
Rugby Sevens
Coordinator: Trent Hacking
Congratulations to the girls who participated in St Peters' very first girls teams to be involved in Rugby Sevens. Rugby Sevens for women shot to the spot light at the last Olympics and it is very exciting to be involved in a growing sport. Thank you to Mr Gouws and Mr Hacking for their coordination and passion to make this happen.
Badminton
Coordinator: Mrs Jenni Gagen
The Year 10, Senior and Opens Badminton competition takes place very shortly. For the individual Badminton draw for each of the competitions please check the St Peters App.
We really hope all our Senior Badminton teams enjoy their day of competition which is almost here. Please remember to arrive at the venue with plenty of time to warm up and to bring a water bottle and nutritious food for the day.
Good luck to all teams.
Junior Softball (Years 7 - 9)
Coordinator: Ms Natalie Holman
Junior Softball games for 2019 start in the next few weeks.
All draws with the game and bus departure details are now on the St Peters App for each of the afternoons so please check this for more information. Please check bus departure times carefully as bus departures are different depending on your team.
For games girls are asked to wear their HPE uniform, long St Peters socks and a hat. We also recommend girls bring sunscreen, a jacket (just in case), a water bottle and nutritious food to each game day as well.
Please note that each afternoon the bus logistics and number of games played changes depending on the team you are in, so you need to check the draw carefully each time.
