Ensembles
A community of musicians
The best way to be engaged in any activity is to share it with others. By joining an ensemble, students are joining a community of musicians. They make friends, share the joy of making music together and peer teach each other. Within an ensemble, students make friends with like-minded musicians and forge deep, long lasting relationships.
A variety of string ensembles, vocal ensembles and bands are available for our young musicians to participate in according to their stage of musical development.
These ensembles include:
Choirs
- Dolce Voce – a cocurricular choir for Years 3-6.
- Con Brio – a cocurricular choir for Years 7-12 students.
Instrumental
- Kats-Chernin Wind Ensemble – elementary standard band.
- Grainger Concert Band – advanced standard band.
- Pizzicato Strings – elementary standard string ensemble.
- Allegro Strings – intermediate standard string ensemble.
- Cantabile Strings – advanced standard string ensemble.
- Edwards Chamber Ensemble - woodwind ensemble.
- Guitar Ensemble.
- Jazz Ensemble.
- Percussion Ensemble.
Final ensembles are dependent on student demand, which is reviewed each year.
Performance opportunities are provided to these ensembles throughout the year. St Peters Springfield ensemble students take part in Eisteddfod’s, the St Peters community showcase and special events for the broader community.
Band Camp
Each year, students have the opportunity to participate in the St Peters Band Camp. This is an intensive developmental opportunity culminating in a performance for families and friends in the state-of-the-art Performing Arts Centre (PAC) at St Peters Indooroopilly. St Peters Springfield students also have opportunity to be a part of the St Peters Indooroopilly Ensembles, granting them the opportunity to participate in local and international tours.
