Olympics, Here We Come!
It’s a year overdue, but, finally, the ‘Tokyo 2020’ Summer Olympic Games are almost here. With the Opening Ceremony taking place this Friday 23 July, it’s a very exciting time. Old Scholar’s Olympic Dreams Realised
Eve Thomas (2018) was the first of Dean Boxall’s St Peters Western (SPW) swimmers to qualify for an Olympic team. Just three years out of high school, she qualified for the New Zealand team in Women’s 1500m Freestyle! As her fellow Old Scholars and current St Peters students continue trialing for the Australian Olympic swim team this week, we caught up with Eve to find out more about this huge achievement.
2021 Ethi'Cool' Projects
Last week, our first group of Year 7 students completed their Ethi‘Cool’ Project presentations. Challenged to combine technological innovations with concepts of ethics, the students produced a range of great, innovative solutions. Kerrie Anglin is a woman of many talents. Currently serving as Senior School Key Pastoral Care Teacher at St Peters Springfield, Kerrie is also a teacher and coordinator of Legal Studies, serves as WHS and Compliance Officer and much more. 2021 has been a year of reintroductions—from Sport fixtures, to live Music performances and community events. Students Find their Futures
It’s no secret that the onset of COVID-19 disrupted what everyone once knew as ‘normal’, especially in the school setting. 2020 saw an absence of College events and, for a time, students on campus, but, surprisingly, it wasn’t all bad. Creative thinking thrived and, of that, many new programs and initiatives were born. One such program was the St Peters ‘Find Your Future’ program.
Year 6 students taking steps to be great leaders
To support our Year 6 students in understanding what it means to be a supportive leader in Primary School, we organised them to work with a team from ‘Character Builders’. The program was run over two days — one at school and one on the Kokoda track at Mt Coot-tha.

Upper Primary Peace Pole
In the lead-up to the centenary of Rotary Australia, the Rotary Club of Kenmore donated a Peace Pole to our Upper Primary students. The pole, one of just 100 donated in Australia, was officially welcomed by our Year 6 students on Tuesday 5 November, 2020—in the College’s 75th year.
