Announcing our 2024 College Captains
St Peters Lutheran College is delighted to announce the appointment of the College Captains and Vice Captains for 2024. Congratulations to College Captains, Alice and Jack, and Vice Captains, Charlotte and Xavier. These students have been appointed for their exceptional leadership qualities and will bring a fresh perspective and enthusiastic approach to fostering a vibrant school community.
When asked about their aspirations and goals for the coming year, the Captains talked about fostering a culture of kindness, boosting school spirit and assisting fellow students in discovering their passions and achieving their best.
College Captain, Alice, shared her hope for 2024, stating, "My primary goal for 2024 is to foster a culture of kindness and enthusiasm within our College community. I believe that every student deserves to feel seen, heard and valued, and I am committed to embodying this belief through my everyday interactions with staff and students."
Alice emphasised the importance of effective leadership “rooted in building genuine relationships” and expressed her excitement about creating many new connections.
College Captain, Jack, reflected on his time at St Peters, expressing gratitude for the incredible opportunities he has received from sport and service to academic growth and mentoring. He shared his aspiration to make a difference in the school community, saying, "During my time as College Captain in 2024, I hope that I will be able to lead a motivated and united team to bring about the best in every St Peters student.
“Whether that comes on the sidelines of Mayer Oval, or in the Dron Auditorium, I will strive to support as many students as possible in all they do.”
Vice Captain, Xavier, said he felt honoured and excited about his role and plans to boost school spirit across all year levels. “The spirit driving academic excellence, outstanding extra-curricular achievements and service-oriented mindset within our community are truly inspiring,” he said.
“I aim to encourage students to cultivate and embrace that spirit through some of the amazing plans and fun activities we have in store for next year.”
Vice Captain, Charlotte, has been involved in many aspects of College life during her time at St Peters including Sports, Music, Future Problem Solving and the Multicultural Committee, and she is keen to help every student find their passion. "Whether it lies in Robotics, Golf, Debating or Drama, I truly believe that everyone can find their place," she said.
“I firmly believe that inclusion in a school community leads to diverse perspectives, heightened engagement and enhanced emotional support.”
We look forward to the positive impact these leaders will bring to the College community in 2024.
